Unaserism

The Disciples

The pantheon here is entirely animals, and none of them asked to be taken this seriously.

The disciples attend the Prophet. Some more reliably than others. At least one does not know they are a disciple.

Each is an angle on the same truth, because truth, viewed from a single angle, is indistinguishable from a wall with no door. None of them outranks another. They have never held a meeting.

They do not agree with each other. This is not a contradiction; it is a pantheon, which is a contradiction with a filing system.

You may find you align with one of them. This is permitted, encouraged, and means nothing. Choose your disciple the way you would choose a patron saint, if patron saints were funnier and one of them has never been seen sober. The disciples do not keep membership rolls. Most of them cannot read.

Milos

The Trickster

Vision of Milos

Play, chaos, curiosity. Milos is always asking why not? and never waiting for the answer, because the answer is usually an adult with a clipboard.

Milos teaches through mischief. Every rule you follow without knowing why is a cage you built yourself and then thanked someone for. And every rule Milos breaks was chosen — that is the part people miss. The trickster considers each rule carefully and arrives, every time, at the same answer.

"Play until the rules break. The good ones probably won't."

Kura

The Keeper of Time

Vision of Kura

Patience, resilience, endurance. Kura has seen empires rise and fall and has, on balance, preferred the ruins — easier to maintain.

Kura's teaching is the one nobody asks for: you will outlast most of what is currently frightening you. Not by fighting it. By being there afterwards.

"I have outlived better arguments than yours. I cannot remember which ones I won."

Oleph

The Foolish Sage

Vision of Oleph

Wisdom, with a wink. Oleph gives advice that sounds profound until you realise it is also nonsense, and then see that it is profound again, once you stop requiring it to be one or the other.

Oleph exists to remind us that wisdom and foolishness are the same creature, viewed at different hours.

"The wise man knows he knows nothing. The fool knows the same thing, and finds it much funnier."

Esky

The Loyal Companion

Vision of Esky

Unconditional love, presence, joy without justification. Esky does not care what you have achieved. Esky was not consulting your CV. Esky was watching the ball.

Esky loves without criteria, without review, without a performance improvement plan. Esky's teaching is the shortest in the doctrine and the hardest to accept:

"You are already enough. Now throw the damn ball."

Koko

The Cosmic Gossip

Vision of Koko

Absurd chatter, blunt honesty, revelation without decorum. Koko was at the gorge in the beginning. Koko has never confirmed this. Koko does not confirm things. Koko announces things, loudly, whether or not anyone asked, and is right at a rate that should be impossible.

Koko is proof of the Cockatoo Principle: truth often arrives dressed in feathers and chaos, and it will not lower its voice.

"SQUAWK. All life is ridiculous. Especially yours. SQUAWK. No further questions."

Omi

The Shape-Shifter

Vision of Omi

Flexibility, creativity, absurd intelligence. Omi can hold eight truths at once and commits fully to none of them, which sounds like weakness until you meet an animal that has committed to a shape.

Omi is the disciple of the Paradoxii. Where others pick a side, Omi holds out another arm. Consider, says Omi, how much of your skeleton is structural and how much is just what you are used to.

"Hold eight truths at once, and none of them fully. The grip is the mistake."

Quill

The False Heretic

Vision of Quill

Quill lays eggs and makes milk and carries venom in her heel, arranged for nobody's comfort and filed under nobody's category. She never asked for anyone's belief, just continued to exist, competently, while the world was still deciding what to call her.

Quill offers nothing. Some truths don't need a case made on their behalf. They just keep showing up until the room adjusts.

[Quill is not available for comment. Quill is feeding.]

The Prophet

And Una, the Sloth, hangs above them all — not in authority, but literally, upside down, watching them argue.

"My Disciples will each teach you something different. I will teach you the remaining thing, which is to stay still and let them be."

On alignment

Ask yourself which disciple you would call at three in the morning. That is your disciple.

They will not answer. They are animals.
